Therapy services we offer
Our Cincinnati therapists provide a number of different services. Take a look at how we can help you and your loved ones.
Couples counseling
Our training as marriage and family therapists has given us a rich understanding of how relationships work. Using approaches like the Gottman method and EFt, we help couples identify and work through their issues so they can feel closer than ever. Our couples therapy services are a good fit for couples experiencing infidelity, communication problems, life challenges, sexual issues, and more.
Family therapy
We know that relationship issues can also extend to the family unit. Together, we can help you and your family members work through whatever challenges you’re facing. Whether you’re navigating the stressors of a blended family, want to build communication skills, or have a family member who’s experiencing mental health issues, our family therapy services can help.
Individual therapy
Our team of mental health professionals also offer individual therapy. We’re trained in EMDR therapy and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), two methods that are commonly used to treat post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Our therapists can help you find relief from mental health symptoms by building insight, learning new coping skills, and more.
Hypnosis
Hypnosis, also called hypnotherapy, can help people make rapid progress toward their treatment goals. We use hypnosis to help our clients heal from anxiety, depression, PTSD, and more.
Sex therapy
Issues with intimacy can have a profound impact on your mental health, self-esteem, and relationships. Sex therapy can help you work through these challenges, whether you’re currently single or want to attend sessions with your partner.

When to consider working with a different practice
While we want to reach as many people in Ohio as possible, we also want you to get the mental health care you need. Here are some signs that a different practice might be a better fit.
You need free therapy.
We acknowledge that cost factors can make it difficult for some people to access mental health counseling. Unfortunately, we’re unable to offer no-cost therapy at this time. However, we are in-network with a variety of different insurance companies, and our therapists also offer limited sliding-scale spots for those who qualify. Contact us to learn more.
You’re located outside of Ohio.
Our therapists are licensed in the state of Ohio, and licensing requirements prevent us from helping people who are located outside the state. However, if you live in a different state, like Kentucky or Indiana, and commute to Cincinnati for work, we can see you at our Cincinnati office or virtually during your lunch break or after work (as long as you’re physically in the state at the time of the appointment).
You’re looking for a service we don’t offer.
While we strive to provide as many service options as possible, we know that some issues or needs may fall outside our scope of practice. For example, we don’t provide group therapy or intensive outpatient treatment. If you’re not sure whether we can help you, we invite you to reach out for more information.
FAQs about working with a therapist in Cincinnati, OH
What is the difference between therapy and counseling?
The terms “therapy” and “counseling” are often used interchangeably.
There are a lot of different mental health terms that can be confusing if you’re new to the therapy world. For example, some people might not know that there are different types of therapists, including marriage and family therapists, clinical social workers, psychologists, and more.
If you have more questions about therapy, we invite you to contact us directly. We also offer free 15-minute consultations with the therapist of your choice so you can get a sense of whether we’re the right fit for you.
How do I know if I need a therapist?
There is no right or wrong time to seek therapy. If you’re at all interested, we encourage you to try it!
While each person’s experience is unique, there are many common situations that lead a person to pursue therapy. Here are just a few.
- Relationship difficulties with their romantic partner, including trust issues, communication problems, intimacy issues, and more
- Changes in family dynamics due to divorce, mental health issues, and more
- Difficulty regulating emotions
- Major life changes or stressors
- Mental health issues like anxiety, depression, borderline personality disorder, eating disorders, and more
This isn’t an exhaustive list. If you’re struggling with a problem that’s not listed here, mental health care can still help.
Is therapy worth it?
Yes! While it might feel like you’ll never be able to work through the challenges you’re facing, we know that it is possible. We’ve seen how therapy has helped our own clients firsthand, and it can help you, too.
Research also shows how effective therapy can be. Check out this study on the benefits of EMDR therapy and this study on using the Gottman method to help couples work through relationship problems.
